Ben was admitted to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2006.
Since graduating from the University of Adelaide, Ben has practised routinely as defence counsel in a wide range of criminal matters in all South Australian jurisdictions.
Ben has successfully defended clients charged with a range of serious criminal offences. His attention to detail and ability to think outside the box makes Ben one of Adelaide’s leading criminal lawyers.
Outside of the law, Ben has gained recognition as a member of Australia’s National Ice Hockey Team. During 2011, he represented Australia for the seventh time at the IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament.
Frank Barbaro co-founded Barbaro Thilthorpe Lawyers in 2012.
He was admitted to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2006.
He became entitled to practise in Australia’s Federal Circuit and High Court in 2007.
Since graduating from the University of Adelaide, Frank has practised in multiple areas of Law, but is primarily engaged for his experience in Criminal Law.
He has successfully defended clients charged with the most serious of criminal offences, appearing as counsel in South Australian and interstate Courts.

Jasmine commenced as Law Clerk at Barbaro Thilthorpe Lawyers in 2015 while studying her Bachelor of Laws.
Jasmine graduated in 2018 and was awarded Honours as well as the Dean’s Certificate for Miscarriages of Justice.
Jasmine was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia as a Barrister and Solicitor in May 2019, after completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Since her admission, Jasmine has worked passionately on complex criminal matters. She has been involved in several Murder trials and High Court appeals and frequently works with preeminent Counsel. She has been recognised in Doyles Guide for her excellent work in criminal law.
Jasmine also practises in criminal assets confiscation and personal injury law. Jasmine was made a partner of our firm in December 2022.
Rebecca was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in March 2015, after completing her Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Whilst completing her studies, Rebecca began working as a Law Clerk in 2011, gaining extensive experience in criminal law, family law and civil litigation. Upon her admission into the legal profession, she continued her work as a solicitor, practising primarily in family law.
In addition to Rebecca’s experience within the law, she has maintained senior positions at the Department of Community Corrections and the Parole Board of South Australia.
Rebecca now leads the family law team at Barbaro Thilthorpe, dealing with complex family law matters, including highly litigated property disputes and children’s issues. Throughout her career, Rebecca has gained extensive experience in family farming/agricultural and rural matters.
Rebecca is recognised as an exceptional lawyer, whose hard-working and meticulous nature has taken her from strength to strength.
Outside of law, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her young family. She is also a passionate equestrian with a love for her country lifestyle.
Omar graduated from the University of South Australia in 2021 with a Bachelor of Law with Honours. He was admitted to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia in August 2021. Prior to joining our team in 2023, he gained valuable experience working at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.
Throughout his career, Omar has developed extensive experience in advocacy, with a particular focus on bail applications. His in-depth knowledge and understanding of the legal system allow him to effectively navigate the complexities of criminal, traffic, and family law matters. Omar’s commitment to justice and his ability to advocate for his clients make him a valuable asset to our team.
Omar is also a committee member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Law (ANZAPPL).
Nikki began working as an administrative assistant in 2010 before opting for a career change in November 2020. In July 2022, Nikki commenced as a legal secretary for Barbaro Thilthorpe Lawyers.
Nikki has a very keen interest in both criminal and family law and is always happy to greet our clients and accommodate their needs. Expanding her knowledge daily, Nikki is always willing to assist wherever she can in all matters across the firm and has become a vital member of our team.
Outside of law, Nikki is very family orientated, an animal lover and enjoys almost anything that allows her to express her creative side.
Edward, affectionately known as Woody, started as a law clerk at our office in early 2021. Prior to joining our office, he worked with an experienced Adelaide barrister in Chambers. Edward is due to graduate from Adelaide University with a Bachelor of Laws in July 2023 and will complete his Bachelor of Arts thereafter.
Edward assists our lawyers with both criminal and family law matters. He is a valued member of our team with an aptitude for thinking outside of the box. Edward looks forward to being admitted to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor and applying the skills he has learnt with us.
